Fratricide/Prayers For An Apocalypse/2007 CD Review

Fratricide-Prayers For An Apocalypse
Fratricide are a band from Ohio with 2 members and I would describe their music as melodic black metal with a raw edge and this is a review of their album "Prayers For An Apocalypse.

Drums on this recording are mostly mid paced and there is not a lot of blast beats, while the bass guitars on this recording are almost hard to hear and the parts that I heard seemed to follow the rhythms of the guitars.

Guitars on this recording are mostly rhythm's with very little guitar leads even though they show up at times and I would describe the riffs as being fast and melodic in the vein of 90's Swedish black metal and at times you can hear some acoustic parts that seem haunting.

Vocals on this recording are high pitched black metal screams with have a lot of emotion, while the lyrics are about war and the apocalypse, as for the production on this recording it sounds really good and it fits this style of music.

In my opinion this is good album for this style of black metal and I would recommend to fans who like their black metal melodic while maintaining a raw edge.  RECOMMENDED  BUY>
